Legalisation
Documents that are to be sent to a foreign country will often need to be legalised. The legalisation confirms that the signature, seal or stamp of a public official, notary public or other accredited official on a document is genuine.
Where a document is party to the Hague Convention of 1961, it requires only a government apostille (legalisation certificate) to be affixed. For use in countries not a party to the Hague Convention, the document has to be legalised additionally by the consulate of the relevant country. For some countries the document has to be presented through a Chamber of Commerce before the legalisation by the consulate.
Notarisation is a formality often required for documents which are to be used overseas, or for certifying document copies. We are able to get copies of documents notarised prior to apostille.
